Cape Cod & Islands Council News
Records Updated Online
During 2008, Cape Cod and Islands Council packs, troops, crews and ships recorded 791 individual advancements in rank. While Boy Scouts earned 807 merit badges, the number of Cub Scout Activity Badges earned is unknown. Over the same twelve months, 20 Packs, Troops, Crews and Ships submitted their advancement reports on-line. The 103 electronically submitted advancement reports greatly shortened processing time as well as ensuring data accuracy by enabling unit volunteers to correct dates and enter missing data.
Internet Advancement has also made it possible for units to print and distribute advancement records to their members for verification and record retention. Every Scout approaching Eagle rank understands the importance of accurate advancement records. Giving units direct access to live data has greatly facilitated the ability of Scouts at all levels to verify their own records with their Pack, Troop, Crew or Ship advancement person.
