Great Training Opportunities this spring

Active Scout parents become trained leaders. Trained leaders lead to great Scouting program. Great program leads to retention of current youth and attraction of new member families. New families bring more active Scout parents who in turn become trained leaders developing great program. It all starts with parents and leaders who want the best program for their Scouts (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Sea Scouts and Explorers). Take advantage of these great training opportunities this spring:

EDGE (a.k.a. Trainer Development), Council Service Center, 5 hours starting at 9:00 AM, February 27th, no charge. This course is required of all council training team members and volunteers serving as pack trainers.

Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific, Council Service Center, 8 hours, February 13th and March 27th , 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, $25. Required for certification as Trained in this position.

Cub Scout Leader Specific, all positions (Tiger Leader, Den Leader, Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Member of Committee), 3 hours, Camp Greenough, March 27th, 9:00 AM-Noon, no charge. Required for certification as Trained in this position

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation), 6 hours, May 1st starting at 9:00 AM, Camp Greenough, $7. Required of at least one adult participant on any Cub Scout outing.

IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills), 1 ½ days, May 15-16, 8:00 AM Sat - Noon Sunday, Camp Greenough, $35. Required for certification as Trained in this position.

Call the Council Service Center to sign up today. Don't wait for a better deal. There is no better deal than understanding fully the program in which you have enrolled your son. There is no better way to know he is getting the best program than to know the program. Don't wait until the 11th hour to sign up. Only participation will ensure the course is not cancelled.
