Don't miss the highlight of the 100th anniversary year as Cape Cod & Islands Council holds a council-wide celebration camporee May 21-23 at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds. Its a once-in-a-lifetime event.

 

Go body surfing, surf casting, shell fishing, kayaking, sail a tall ship, try lobstering, and more, while biking the Cape Cod Rail Trail all in one five-day stretch.We're taking individual local Scouts on our Maritime High Adventure Trek program at a much reduced rate the week of July 4-10.

 

Camp Greenough is looking for a few good Scouts and Scouters to serve on staff this summer. We will be conducting interviews for all returning and prospective staff at the Council Service Center on Sunday, March 14th starting at 1:00 pm.

 

Cape Cod & Islands Council will recognize Cub Scouts who have earned the Arrow of Light and are ready to join a troop. The recognitions ceremony will be held at Camp Greenough on Wednesday, March 24th. This event is to congratulate young scouts on a job well done.

 

There is no better way to know your son or daughter is getting the best Scouting program than to know the program yourself. Current leaders and active parents may take advantage of these great training opportunities this spring.

 

A group of people meeting once a month for a 2 to 5 mile recreational hike, social exercise and to enjoy camp.

All Scouting units are needed on SATURDAY, APRIL 10TH to help complete some small projects to make Camp Greenough even better than it already is and have it ready for spring and summer use.

To ensure our Scouts get the very best program we can deliver, all leaders in Scouting need to be trained in their specific positions. And trained leaders are the first criterion for the Quality Unit Award. Two very important training courses are coming up in February; Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific and Trainier Development (a.k.a. EDGE).

The 2010 Friends of Scouting (FOS) Thank-You patch continues to highlight the Cape's rich lighthouse tradition by featuring the Cleveland Ledge Light in Bourne. Sixth in the series of twelve, the patch promotes the Sixth Scout Law, A Scout is Kind.
