2019 World Scout Jamboree - July 22 to August 2, 2019

The 2019 World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) will be held at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia from July 22 to August 2.

Here's what we know so far:

  • Participants from our council will be part of a contingent troop made up of 3 councils: Mohegan, Nashua Valley and Cape Cod & Islands.
  • The troop will consist of 36 Scouts and 4 Adult leaders. We don't yet know how many Scouts and leaders from our council will be able to attend or how those slots will be allocated.
  • Scouts must be between 14 and 17 years old at the time of the WSJ. Those 18 and older who would like to attend would either need to register to be an adult leader with the troop or an IST (International Service Team, a.k.a Staff) member.
  • The cost has not yet been announced. We've heard somewhere around $1800 for the Jamboree fee and transportation. This probably will not include other expenses like troop t-shirts and patches. We've also heard that there will be a 5% discount if you register and pay a $200 deposit before 12/31/2017.

Registration should be opening soon. You should keep an eye on our council Facebook page and website for more information. You should also sign up for emails from our council. You can do that from our website. Click here to go to the Email Update Sign-up page.
