2017 National Jamboree Contingent

The 2017 National Scout Jamboree will be held from July 19 to July 28, 2017. You can find out more about the 2017 Jamboree at http://www.bsajamboree.org.

Cape Cod & Islands Council has committed to sending one Troop (36 Scouts and 4 adults) and one Venturing Patrol (9 Scouts and 1 adults).

Current status (as of 11/14/2016): We currently have 42 Scouts registered for the Jamboree. We have 3 spots open for the troop. After those spots are filled, we will take applications for the waiting list. Please register online at http://www.bsajamboree.org. You can contact the Council Office with any questions.

Troop Qualifications:

  • Participants must be registered with the BSA.
  • Must be at least First Class by July 19, 2017.
  • Must be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree or an 11-year-old that has graduated the 6th grade but has not reached their 18th birthday by the last day of the Jamboree.

Venturing Patrol Qualifications:

  • Participants must be registered with the BSA.
  • Must have graduated the 8th grade or be at least 14 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree, but not have reached their 21st birthday by the last day of the Jamboree.

Estimated Cost: The estimated cost of attending the 2017 Jamboree is $1,800. The price includes round-trip transportation by bus or van, the National Jamboree fee, meals, troop and patrol equipment, accident and sickness insurance, troop numbers, position patches, 2 t-shirts, Jamboree Council Shoulder Patches and a Jamboree duffel bag (for those who registered by June 30, 2016). You may also have additional costs for uniforms and other personal gear.

The meetings are held at Camp Greenough - either in the dining hall or the nearby pavilion - unless otherwise noted.

Meetings will run from 3 PM until around 4:30 PM.
