Cub Scout Day Camp
Day Camp for boys entering grades 1 - 5
Come enjoy Fun in the Sun this summer at Cub Scout Day Camp. The Cape Cod & Islands Council will offer five weeks of Cub Scout Day Camp at beautiful Camp Greenough in Yarmouth Port - the heart of the mid-Cape.
Day Camp is staffed by experienced adult leaders and senior scouts. Programs operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Extended hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) are available for an additional fee. Each week of day camp features themed activities. Sign up for several weeks, or the entire summer. Boys entering first grade must be accompanied by and adult (age 18 or over) partner.
The Cub Scout Day Camp Program provides an introduction to Scouting's Outdoor Program. Activities are conducted in an outdoor setting, close to home and during daylight hours.
Program activities include; swimming, boating, fishing, crafts, hiking, biking, nature study, games, fieldsports, archery, and BB gun shooting.
Scouts participating in Day Camp are better prepared and eager to accept the challenge of residential camping. Through supervised activities, boys develop self-reliance and resourcefulness, learn age appropriate skills, establish new friendships and, of course, have lots of FUN.
Camp activites are age-appropriate. Cub Scouts will be placed in dens with boys of the same age and with scouts from their home units whenever possible. Parents are always welcome to participate. Boys entering first grade must be accompanied by an adult partner. We strongly encourage dens to participate in the week-long activities together, with their den leader and take advantage of car-pool opportunities.
The mission of Cub Scout Day Camp is simple; "have as much fun as possible." Therefore, Day Camp is not intended to be an advancement camp.
