Units
can now submit advancement for unit youth members online!
Cape Cod & Islands Council is excited to announce that
units are now able to use Internet Advancement to record
their youth member advancements from any online location
at home or at the office. You will find this new method
to be easy, convenient, and accurate because you enter
the information.
Use Internet Advancement for the following:
- Add ranks, merit badges, and awards for your youth
members
- Update information on existing advancements and awards
(excepting the Eagle Scout rank)
- Print unit rosters, advancement summary reports, and
even temporary membership cards
The information contained in Internet Advancement is
the most current information from ScoutNET, the official
database for the BSA. Updates you make are recorded directly
into ScoutNET. Unit roster reports also include the Person
ID for each adult and youth member. This important information
will be needed for online training courses.
Using Internet Advancement
- Select an Advancement Processor. This could be your
Committee Member responsible for advancement. The Advancement
Processor must have Internet connectivity and must
use Microsoft Internet Explorer to access the system.
- Obtain a Unit Login ID code from the Council.
- Gather
information for advancement, including merit badge
applications and advancement records with dates.
- Navigate to the Internet
Advancement portal website.
We suggest that you "bookmark" the
page to return later.
- Follow the instructions, if you
are a "First
Time User" or log in if you are a "Returning
User".
- Log in and enter/verify all of your advancements.
- Once
finished, print the Unit Advancement Report (2 copies).
- Have
the appropriate people sign the printed Unit Advancement
Report and submit the original copy to the Council.
Save a copy for your files. Units should submit this
report monthly before the end of each month, or more
often if needed.
- Pick up your advancements and recognitions!
