Try Venturing on Cape Cod

How does Venturing work?
Venturing is a Youth run Coed program. As a Venturer you will join other Cape Cod teens in planning and operating a Venturing Crew with guidance from qualified adult Advisors. If you are between the ages of 14 and 20 years old and have completed the eight grade, you may participate in Venturing. Venturing is a Coed program and no previous scouting experience is required.

What else can Venturing teach me?
As a Venture you will learn the important skills like team building, public speaking, and interviewing. You will also learn to organize your time to accomplish tasks for your school, religious organization, and for extracurricular activities.

What kinds of activities do Venturers do?
There are too many to list here, but some of the activities of Cape area Venturers have included, backpacking in the White Mountains, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Coral Reef sailing trip in the Florida Keys, CPR/First Aid Training, Teaching skills to others, Arts and Hobbies, Rock Wall Climbing and Community Service Projects.

Some upcoming activities include White Water Rafting in Northern Maine, Wilderness First Aid Training, Computer LAN Parties, Six Flags New England, Beach Parties, and more!

For more information about Venturing Crews in your area, please contact Steve Purcell at 508-477-6074 or 508-364-3172.
